Synopsis

The increase in lethal violence and mass incarceration are recent phenomena which provokes fear and apprehension in the population. In search of solutions for this problem, society has been turning to questionable solutions, such as criminal majority reduction. Psychology opposes this proposition because it does not act on the causes of violence, deprivates children and adolescents from their rights and favor exclusionary and repressive practices against historically marginalized social groups. This book analyzes the scientific production related to the reduction of criminal majority from the perspective of Psychology.
