Synopsis

This collection is the result of a systematic work developed by the Associated Graduate Program in Visual Arts UFPB / UFPE aiming to make publicly available the results of the Master's theses in Visual Arts developed in the program. This seventh issue of the collection entitled Encounters and Connections in Visual Arts brings together the results of scientific investigations in the field of Visual Arts carried out by students and professors at PPGAV UFPB / UFPE. The collection is organized in three guiding axes: Visual Arts - Traditions and cultural processes; Visual Arts - Memories, stories and creative processes; Visual Arts - Inclusion and transversality in educational processes.

Author Biographies

Robson Xavier Costa, Dr., Universidade Federal da Paraíba

Professor / Researcher at the Graduate Programs in Visual Arts (PPGAV - current Coordinator) and the Graduate Program in Computing, Communication and Art (PPGCCA), at the Federal University of Paraíba. Adjunct Professor of the Federal University of Paraíba (UFPB). Post Doctor by PGEHA MAC / USP (2017); PhD in Architecture and Urbanism (PPGAU / UFRN - 2014), Ex-doctoral fellow with the Erasmus Mundus 17 Program of the European Union for the Postgraduate Program in Architecture at the University of Minho, Campus de Azurém, Guimarães, Portugal (period: September from 2010 to September 2012), Ex-scholarship holder for Mobility of Brazilian Teachers at Fundación Carolina, Universidad de Granada, España (DEC 2014, JAN and FEV 2015); Master in History (UFPB - 2007), specialist in Education and Information and Communication Technology (UFPB - 2005), Sociology (UFPB / CEFET - 1997) and Special Education (UFPB - 1995), with training in Art Therapy from Clínica Pomar do Rio de Janeiro (2004), Degree in Art Education - Plastic Arts (UFPB - 1993). Member of the Brazilian Association of Art Criticism - ABCA, of the National Association of Researchers in Plastic Arts - ANPAP (representative of the Regional Session of Paraíba) and of the Brazilian Federation of Art / Educators (FAEB - representative of the Regional Session of Paraíba). Creator and Coordinator of the Laboratory of Applied and Integrative Visual Arts (LAVAIs) CCTA / UFPB; Creator and Leader of the Research Group on Art, Museums and Inclusion (GPAMI), accredited by CNPq; Member of the Interdisciplinary Group for Studies on the Imaginary at UFPE. Current president (2018 - 2019) and founding partner of the Paraíba Art Therapy Association (AAPB). Works in the field of Visual Arts, with an emphasis on: Education in Visual Arts, Curatorships and History of Exhibitions, researching the following themes: Visual Arts, Contemporary Art, Art Architectures, Curatorships, History of Exhibitions, Public Studies in Museums, Education in Visual Arts, Visual History, Art Therapy and Inclusive Education. Maria Betânia e Silva, Drª, Universidade Federal de Pernambuco

PhD in Education from the Federal University of Minas Gerais (2010). Master in Education from the Federal University of Pernambuco (2004). Graduated in Art Education / Plastic Arts - Degree from the Federal University of Pernambuco (1992). Graduating in Philosophy at the Federal University of Pernambuco (2020). Professor of Undergraduate and Associate Program of Graduate Studies in Visual Arts UFPE / UFPB. Operates in the Teaching of Visual Arts with an emphasis on the themes: memories, history of art teaching, teacher education in art, pedagogical practices in art.

Fabíola Cristina Alves, Drª, Universidade Federal da Paraíba

PhD in Visual Arts from Universidade Estadual Paulista - Júlio de Mesquita Filho (2016). Master in Arts by the same institution. Degree in Art Education from the Federal University of Paraná (2008). He developed a sandwich doctoral internship in the Postgraduate Program in Plastic Arts, Aesthetics and Cultural Studies at Université Paris 1 (2015-2016). She has experience as a teacher in basic education, having also worked in higher education as a substitute teacher at the Federal University of Paraná (2011-2012). She was a collaborating professor at the Arts Institute of Universidade Estadual Paulista (2017) and a visiting professor at the Armando Álvares Penteado Foundation (2018). He did a Postdoctoral internship in Art History at the School of Philosophy, Letters and Human Sciences at the Federal University of São Paulo (2017-2018). She is currently a professor at the Federal University of Paraíba and works with the Postgraduate Program in Visual Arts (PPGAV UFPB / UFPE).
