CinemaSynopsis
This book is the result of debates developed over a series of university extension activities, with the aim of promoting an integration between the knowledge built in the field of Humanities and the analysis of contemporary cinema productions. In this sense, through the immersion in narratives, scenarios, characters and representations that this type of cultural manifestation provides, the texts that make up this collection raise a range of issues pertinent to the Humanities. In this way, this publication presents an essentially multidisciplinary anima, contemplating essays by 20 teachers from different academic areas: Anthropology, Political Science, History, Psychology, International Relations, Social Work and Sociology.
In order to deal with some of the most relevant and current themes for the Humanities, the collected texts take as object of analysis a significant diversity of films: Hollywood classics, highlights of European and Asian cinema, blockbuster films, acclaimed works of political cinema, productions independent films, Brazilian films and films considered cult. With this almost kaleidoscopic plutality of film genres of themes, contexts and, in particular, of interpretations presented, Cinema & Humanities: multidisciplinary essays aims to contribute to the enrichment of a humanistic academic debate.
